All turkey parts/feathers must be kept clean and dry with minimal blood, dirt, dampness etc. and free of bug damage to receive top price quotes. I reserve the right to dock prices for excess dirt blood, dampness, missing parts etc.I prefer parts and feathers from turkeys harvested during the spring season. I am interested in only the plumage from adult toms and hens and the heads from only adult hens taken during the fall season. DO NOT SEND the small "summer hatch" plumage from fall birds, you will not be paid for these. All raw parts need to be frozen in individual bags ASAP.Tom and hen heads must meet requirements for minimal skin damage and have zero beak damage. All heads must be frozen within 24 hours of kill and sooner when possible. Freeze all heads individually in quart size Zip-Loc bags. YOU WILL NOT BE PAID FOR JAKE HEADS, SO DO NOT SEND THEM.

Wings should have bones removed to cut shipping weight and cost. Please sprinkle removal site with borax after bones have been removed. 20 Mule Team Borax can be found at most stores in the laundry Aisle. DO NOT USE SALT! Tail Fans need to be cut long in a complete clump encasing all of the bronze banded feathers on the back of the turkey. Please view the video on this subject (link) as it will be very beneficial for this process.

Initially shipping charges will be the responsibility of the party sending the turkey parts and/or feathers. Custom Feathers will reimburse half of shipping charges for goods with a value of up to $100. Custom Feathers will fully reimburse shipping charges for goods exceeding $100. It is important to reduce dead air space in boxes shipped to Custom Feathers as all carriers now charge extra for packages with dimensions over 1 cubic foot. Please make sure the shipping carton you choose is not too large for the items inside. You may need to reduce the size of the box to accommodate the items shipped and prevent shifting in transit ultimately damaging the goods inside. It is also important to not choose a box too small or short but to comfortably hold the items shipped also preventing damage to goods because of crowding. Thanks! David Mitchell
